Something I look forward to on the 1st of every month is my edition of author and artist Alyson Shekdrake’s Snapshot! magazine landing in my inbox.
This month’s is extra special.

Besides being a bumper edition, packed with news from the Algarve, book recommendations, Dave Sheldrake’s beautiful photographs from the Silves Medieval Festival, and professional ‘In Focus’ photography tips, there are pictures of superstar canine Kat the Dog, Liesbet Collaert’s road-tripping pooch Maya, who was rescued from Hurricane Harvey in Houston, and author Vic Bucket, who writes about his life in Greece, it features an interview with…
ME!
If you want to know what inspired me to write my books, my favourite childhood books, how I choose where to travel PLUS something you didn’t know about me… as well as lots of shots of The Fab Four, check out the links below.

Kat the Dog – The Remarkable Tale of a Rescued Spanish Water Dog
A Heartbreaking & Happy Tail of How Chance can Change a Life – I blubbed my way through the first part of this book, which is a very powerful account of the awful treatment some poor pooches endure in Spain. However, the wonderful and committed people who step in to change their lot definitely brings the sun out again – and it is no spoiler to say that in spite of everything, there is a happy ending for everyone! It is a very hopeful and lovely story of how chance can conspire to change a life.

I reckon his three words can only apply since he met you, so he must be partially responsible!

Ha ha! I shall tell him that! He doesn’t seem to take into account that in my hearing test, I had the hearing of an 18 year old!

Let’s get the fire out of the way and, also, we have an English guest coming to stay with us until the 8th. So for another week we are going to be distracted!

Distraction is good.
Let’s hope an English guest takes your mind off it nearly as much as a collie having a tennis ball! 🙂

Ha, ‘blind, clumsy and deaf’ … Mark is living a dangerous life (he must be careful, he might just be replaced with George Clooney)! It was great to read the personalities of The Fab Four. Oh yes, and I agree … definitely Meryl Streep (you even look a bit like her – or she like you)! Great interview Jackie (and lovely photos).

Thank you! I think Mark does like to live life on the edge… Do you think I’d have a chance with Clooney? 🙂
I’m flattered if you think I look like Meryl Streep. She is so beautiful and so talented!

Oh well, you never know … Mr Clooney might just like dogs 😄.

I’m sure Clooney likes dogs. He seems like a nice guy! You can’t be a nice guy and not like dogs!
