Travel Challenge – Day Four

Thank you to Maggie and Richard of the FAB Monkey’s Tale adventure travel blog for nominating me for The Travel Challenge.

The challenge is to post a favourite travel picture for 10 days without explanation and nominate someone else to participate.

I’m bending the rules a little by adding an explanation, since I am a writer more than a photographer and like to know the who, what, where, why and hows.

Here, you can enjoy the beautiful light from Kanaha beach on the north shore of Maui, Hawai’i. The view is looking towards the volcano, Mauna Kahalawai – the West Maui Mountain. As a windsurfer, it is Mecca. I was blown away to windsurf there for my 50th birthday! Two of our pups have Hawai’ian names; Kai means ‘ocean’ and Lani means ‘heaven’ or ‘sky’.

In these strange times, I think we all need a little vicarious travel and cheering up – and it’s a great excuse to delve back into your travel archives!
