Book Review – Building The Beast: How (Not) To Build An Overland Camper

I submitted my latest memoir, Building The Beast: How (Not) To Build An Overland Camper to book blogger, Ilana, reader, writer and traveller from Wild Writing Life.

As part of a previous blog tour, Ilana, a Top NetGalley.com Reviewer, reviewed my book It Never Rains But It Paws: A Road Trip Through Politics And A Pandemic. She described it as:

Smart, curious and often hilarious. That kind of hilarious that only someone smart and curious can be.

It´s for both armchair travellers and adventurous dog-lovers.

Since Ilana enjoyed my previous book, I sent her a copy of my latest, and here are some highlights from her lovely review:

In some parts I just couldn´t stop from laughing out loud…

I cannot wait to see what happened next…

I am pleased to say that I am working very hard on the sequel, More Manchester Than Mongolia, and hope to release it early in 2025.

Since 2021, we've been at large in a 24.5-tonne self-converted ex-army truck called The Beast. BC (Before Canines) - we had adventures on every continent other than Antarctica!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words.

We’re ‘in the brick’ at the moment, up to our ears in DIY! Our flat has been rented out for nearly a decade to fund our travels, so it needed a bit of tlc. I’ve also got my head down writing the The Beast’s sequel.

However, we’re back in The Beast from 2nd January and will be heading off to Italy to ski. I can’t wait! Hopefully, I can get back to blogging then, too.

I know you’re not long back, but do you have any trips on the horizon?

      1. Wow, good luck with your huge project. And so envious of Italy! I shall look forward to your sequel! I just returned from southern Mexico a month ago. Trying to figure out where to disappear to this winter. Hugs ❤
