The blog tour for More Manchester Than Mongolia: An Unexpected Road Trip Through Back Road Britain is officially in full swing — even if my posting schedule took a tiny, furry-related wobble. Our lovely Ruby needed an unexpected vet visit on launch day, 5th December, which knocked me sideways for a bit. She’s fine at the moment, so I’m catching up and finally sharing a roundup of the wonderful reviews that have come in so far.
Before I dive into them, a little good news: the book launch went brilliantly, and Manchester has even hit the bestseller lists on Amazon. I’m still a bit stunned, to be honest — and incredibly grateful to everyone who bought, downloaded, reviewed, or cheered from the sidelines. I cannot thank you enough!
And honestly? These early blog tour reviews have really lifted my spirits this week.
Here’s what readers and reviewers have been saying:
📚 4 December — @readabookandlearnanewword
FIVE STARS 5★ on Goodreads
“A Moon With A View had me in tears of laughter… Just brilliant.”
Kelly @readabookandlearnaword

📚 5 December — Novel Delights
“For so many reasons I loved being immersed in the chaotic world of Jacqueline (Jackie) Lambert as she shared her unexpected adventures through the back roads of England…”
@noveldelights
As a book blogger and reviewer for Manchester Post, Stockport Post, Trafford Post, Salford Post & Cheshire East Post, as well as a NetGalley Professional Reader and Top Reviewer, I was thrilled that Novel Delights chose to feature my book!

📚 8 December — Book Mark! Facebook Group
FIVE STARS 5★ on Goodreads & Amazon
“A really good travel book, different, bright, breezy but honest and true…”
Mark Fearn, Book Mark

It’s always lovely when a big, active reading community gets involved — and those 5★ Amazon and Goodreads reviews are a definite boost!
📚 9 December — @fatguyreading
FOUR STARS 4★
“I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It’s down to earth, it’s genuine, authentic, and honest-to-goodness.”
@fatguyreading

I’ll continue sharing each new stop as the tour rolls on, and I’ll post another roundup at the end. Huge thanks to everyone who’s read, reviewed, downloaded, commented, or just followed along so far — and to everyone sending kind messages about Ruby. She’s currently snoring like a chainsaw and supervising from her blanket, so I think we can take that as approval.
More updates soon — and more chaos, travel tales, and Beast-related nonsense to come! If you’ve enjoyed the tour so far, feel free to share any of the posts or leave a review — it really helps.

The tour is organised by Anne Cater of Random Things Through My Letterbox.

About More Manchester Than Mongolia
More Manchester than Mongolia is the true story of what happens when COVID-19 stranded us in Blighty in an ex-army truck camper laughably over-engineered for the quaint English countryside. Undeterred, we set out to explore the hidden marvels of our homeland – and discover whether fortune really does favour the brave…

Thank you so much, Darlene! I really hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
Ruby is fine. She has another vet visit on Monday, but I’m sure all will be well. I just wish I could explain that to her!
You’re right, I just adore my fur babies and wish I could take any pain or discomfort for them! 🙂
Thanks again for your good wishes. 🙂
