The Soundtrack Of My Life – Author Jacqueline Lambert

My good friend and award winning children’s author, Maximilian Sam, has put together a great feature on his blog called The Soundtrack Of My Life. The songs that shaped us are a fantastic way to get to know someone – and give you the opportunity to listen to some great tunes on a personalised Spotify playlist that Maximilian created!

I am the first to be featured, so have a read and find out what happened on Mark’s and my first date? (I promise – in a million years, you’ll never guess!)

Which song cheers me up no matter what?

What was my first single and my first live gig?

Why did I create a Periodic Table of Pasta?

My new book, the comic memoir, Building The Beast: How (Not) To Build An Overland Camper is currently on a virtual blog tour and is available worldwide on Amazon at the special launch price of 99p/99c for a limited period.

It follows the story of how my husband, Mark and I made an impulse purchase, sight unseen from the internet – a 24.5-tonne army truck.

“Hugely inspirational… What a story – and a fabulously entertaining book/read.”

  1. Bohemian Rhapsody is a must, the soundtrack to the year I met my late husband and Ealing was where we had our first home, a police flat. I don’t think the local restaurants were as interesting as your Thai one, though Northfields Avenue was a heady cultural mix with a Greek restaurant next to the Elim Pentecostal church and the art deco cinema and Chinese opposite the tube station.

    1. Ha ha, thank you, Nancy.

It is threescore years of 24 hours per day, so I’ve had a good run at fitting lots in! And now I don’t have to worry about that horrible four-letter word called work. I remember hearing so many retirees saying they don’t know how they found time to go to work and I tend to agree 🙂

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. Very cool idea by Maximilian. Getting to know someone through their musical tastes is brilliant. I wish I’d thought of it. 😊

  3. That’s a great soundtrack list, Jackie. Some classics, for sure. I can’t believe how good your memory is! I had some favorite songs when I was younger, but if I even remember the name of the song, then I won’t the name of the band. Let alone why these songs bring back memories or when I first heard them! I hope that’s not just me. 🙂
