From Rat Race to Road Trip: Overlanding With Four Dogs!

This time, I investigate whether a picture is worth 1000 words.
I am delighted to share this wonderful interview with Maximilian Sam, award-winning author of It’s A Stray Dog’s Life and It’s a Stray dog’s Life 2.
The interview first appeared on the excellent blog Sue’s Musings.
Maximilian was determined that his books should be as enjoyable for parents as they are for children, and won the Best Comedy Book category at the Feed My Reads Awards.
Maximilian lives on the west coast of Turkey with an army of stray dogs and cats, so he has certainly stuck to the premise of ‘write what you know’!
With Christmas coming up, I thought these would make lovely presents for all dog lovers great and small!

Stray dogs are a subject close to our hearts. We rescued a stray in Romania: his story is featured in my book Dogs ‘n’ Dracula – A Road Trip Through Romania and in Robert Fear’s anthology 40 Life Changing Events.

On our last night at Buona Vila, we shared whisky, raki, and stories. Like so many countries we’d been warned not to visit, Albania was already revealing itself as a jewel. Lido, Spartak, and Ayesha had welcomed us like family at their wonderful beachside retreat, and we were reluctant to leave, but such is the nature of a nomad lifestyle. It’s heavy on fleeting friendships, and fond farewells, followed by the relentless quest for something which might be even better.
